Casa De Esperanza Children’s Home

At Hands of Luke Medical Ministries, we bring hope and healing with the love of Jesus Christ to those in need. We strive to serve our community with compassion, integrity and excellence, so that everyone can experience the power of God’s healing grace.

Casa de Esperanza is the name of our Children’s Home. We provide housing for children 5 to 15 years of age. Most of these children are children who are orphans, have been abused, abandoned and/or neglected. Hands of Luke provides the children with:

  • Shelter
  • 3 warm meals per day (including snacks)
  • Clothing
  • Education
  • Medical and Dental care

We are able to provide for up to 80 children.

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me drink; I was a stranger and you invited me in; I was naked and you clothed me; I was sick and you visited me; I was in prison and you came to me. For as you have done it to one of these little ones, you have done it unto me.”    Matthew 25:35, 36, 40A

Medical Clinics

We have a medical clinic at the downtown Juarez facility which is called CLINICA LA FE.

This clinic is equipped to provide free primary health care, Monday through Saturday, and the clinic is available for any patient during the day. We also have clinics setup at each one of the colonias we minister to (Anapra, Conquista, Pavo Real). The clinics are run by a doctor and a nurse provided by Hands of Luke. The clinics provide health care and medications to the patients living in these desolate areas.

These underprivileged patients are unable to seek healthcare elsewhere due to their impoverished living conditions. Most of them struggle just to provide for their basic needs. All our medical care is provided free of charge. The medical clinics are of great necessity to help the patients manage chronic illnesses as well as any acute medical conditions.

Mercy Homes

In 2008, we opened Mercy Homes for single and widowed mothers with children. Presently, we have 13 homes where the mothers are able to live with their children. While the children attend school, the mothers alternate work schedules so that there is always adult supervision of the children when they are at home.

Our Churches

Bringing Hope and Healing to Communities in Need

As a result of the various facets of the ministry, we have been blessed to have five churches. We minister to the people through bible studies, praise and worship, and the Word of God. Each church is ministered by its own pastor.

Nutritional Centers

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.” Matthew 25:35

We have three Nutritional Centers in three different colonias (outskirts) of Juarez. At the Nutritional Centers, we feed poor and underprivileged children one meal a day, five times a week.

  • CONQUISTA – 250-300 children/day
  • ANAPRA – 150-200 children/day
  • PAVO REAL – 150-200 children/day

We also minister to these children by sharing a Bible Story at a level they can understand, and we say a prayer of thanksgiving with them.

Bible Institute

Bible Inst grad

In 2005, we began a Bible institute where we train pastors and church leaders. We have a total of 81 graduates that are now serving churches.

Thanksgiving

Since 1992, through a vision that came to Dr. Samaniego, we began to feed hungry souls in the colonias the day after Thanksgiving. We started by providing 1,000 meals and are now up to 22,000 meals. The meals consist of turkey, vegetables, mashed potatoes, beans, salsa, tortilla and a drink. While the meals are being served, we minister to the hungry by singing praise songs, giving testimonies and preaching the word of God.

Christmas

For Christmas, we minister to 5,500 children through what we call: “OPERATION GIFT OF LOVE”. Children in the colonias receive a gift bag containing candy, personal hygiene items, a small toy, new socks and underwear, and a small bible tract. These are children that would otherwise may not receive anything else for Christmas.
